Piriápolis is a Uruguayan seaside resort in the department of Maldonado, located 98 kilometers east of the capital and most populated city in Uruguay, Montevideo. It has a fixed population of 8,830 inhabitants, although the floating population is much larger, especially between December and March. It was the first seaside resort in the country.
