We will pick
you up from the hotel located in the city of Iquitos to go towards the port at
the boulevard, to take the boat upriver and admiring beautiful views of the
city and the Malecon Tarapacá.
We are going
to navigate the rivers that cross the city: Itaya, Amazonas and
Nanay. During the tour you can see the colors of these rivers that do
not mix, creating a visual show.
The Amazon rainforest has an incredible biodiversity with a huge ecological value
and it is considered the largest jungle
in the world. The Amazon is one of the seven
natural wonders and its extension covers different South American
countries, where Peru and Brasil have the largest part. Insects, species of
birds, mammals, thousand types of trees, flowers and plants live in this place.
Along the journey we will see pink
dolphins and with time enough to fishing
piranhas.
The tour
continues until arrive at the River Moron, where the community of Kukama Kukamiria live. We are going to learn
about their customs and traditional dances. This community settled in this place
about 200 years before the Spanish conquest and they are mainly dedicated to fishing
and agriculture.
We will pass
along the edge of Padre Cocha community
located 20 minutes from the Bellavista
Nanay port. We will arrive at the
butterfly farm of Pilpintuwasi, an animal orphanage with recued animals opened
in 2004.
This is the
only butterfly farm located in Peru and it has more than 20 species of animals such as parrots, jaguars, monkeys,
butterflies, among others. Pilpintuwasi means house of butterflies.
During the
tour, we will enjoy a traditional lunch while you are having stunning
views to the Peruvian jungle. At the end
of this fantastic tour, we are going to back to the city of Iquitos to drop you
off at the hotel.
