Travelling In Huaraz


Huaraz is one of the favorite destinations to practice tour adventures in Peru. Located in the department of Ancash at 3,090 m.a.s.l., and in the south of Callejón de Huaylas, this place has naturales heritages as the Huascarán National Park, as well as impressive lagoons with crystal clear waters.

The most common way to get to Huaraz from Lima is by bus, a trip that takes approximately 7-8 hours and is offered by companies such as Cruz del Sur and Movil Tours. You can also opt for flights to Anta airport, which is close to Huaraz, although these are less frequent. Another option is to rent a car for a scenic drive.
Huaraz is generally considered a safe tourist destination. As with any place, it is important to follow basic precautions such as not displaying valuables in public and being aware of your belongings. Also, due to the altitude, it is advisable to acclimatize properly to avoid altitude sickness.
Due to the altitude and variable climate in Huaraz, it is important to bring appropriate clothing. Warm clothing, waterproof jackets, hats, gloves and scarves are recommended to protect against the cold. It is also useful to bring light, breathable clothing for hiking, as well as good hiking boots. Don`t forget to bring sunscreen and sunglasses.
