We start our tour by picking up from 7 am from designated hotels. We continue along the "Panamericana Sur" route, appreciating its beautiful landscapes, diverse ecosystems and seeing the majesty of the Andes to arrive at approximately 9:00 am at the Cotopaxi National Park.
Once we arrive at the National Park, we will visit the Park`s Museum, the beautiful Limpiopung Lagoon, where its waters are surrounded by small mountains and hills, from there it is possible to appreciate the traces left by the ancient volcanic eruptions. Here you can also observe a great variety of birds, herds of llamas, and some species of mammals such as rabbits and deer.
We will make an interesting 2-hour hike to the splendid forest of the Chuquiraguas at 4200 meters above sea level. (Weather and climate permitting). Where we will be able to learn about the representative plants of this national park like: chuquiragua, colonies of plants in the form of pillows, mosses, lichens, romelios, tree of god and mortiño.
Then we will go to the slopes of the impressive Cotopaxi volcano, where we will take a short walk inside the park. After this, we will visit the Quilotoa Volcano, in this volcano we will be able to observe its crater and its captivating turquoise lagoon. Right there we will do a short walk around the volcano as this place offers us one of the best landscapes and most photographed in the country.
We will have free time for lunch (not included), you will have the option to eat inside the park watching the incredible landscapes of the Cotopaxi volcano or you can also eat outside the National Park.
Our return to the city of Quito will be at approximately 5 pm. We will be dropped off at our hotel.
