Our excursion begins at 7:00 am at the meeting point which is at Magic Bean. From there we move to the south of Quito < b>for approximately 2:30 hours where we will visit Saquisilí on Thursdays, Zumbahua on Saturdays and Pujilí on Sundays. All of these cities have local artisan markets to visit.
The city of Saquisilí is known because the great market is held in its eight squares. There you can find pots, pans, electronic products, herbal remedies, livestock or agricultural products.
The town of Zumbahua is located in the Ecuadorian Andes, In its market you can find native paintings, textile products, ceramics, leather and fruits. You will have the opportunity to appreciate the life and culture of the people who live in this place.
In the town of < b>Pujilí is known for the market that takes place on Sundays, its pottery and ceramics, its great variety of fruits, vegetables and especially its fabrics.
Once we finished our visit to some of the markets, we headed towards Quilotoa. We will take a walking tour until we reach an emerald lagoon, located inside a crater of the volcano with a height of 3,800 m named Quilotoa. Within the lagoon there are springs, which from the shore can be perceived as bubbling trails that rise to the surface. On the tour we will enjoy the different viewpoints and we will be able to take the best photographs of this wonderful landscape.
Later We will visit Shalala, a community known for its crafts where the guide will give us an explanation of the importance of this place. Next, we will have time to go to lunch and then visit the Tigua indigenous community. Artists are born here who capture the indigenous experience in the Andean moors in the stuffed leather of sheep.
Around 3:00 pm we begin on the way to Quito, where our transportation will leave us at Magic Bean.
