The day begins with pick-up from hotels in Rio de Janeiro between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. The drive to Petrópolis takes approximately two hours. While on the road, you`ll enjoy scenic views of the Serra dos Órgãos, a mountainous region known for its lush vegetation and cooler climate.
As we leave Rio’s bustling streets behind, the fresh air and tranquil surroundings of Petrópolis set the tone for the day. Remember to bring a light jacket, as the weather here is often cooler than in Rio.
Our first stop is Casa do Alemão, a traditional restaurant specialized in German sausages and croquettes. Afterward, we visit the Quitandinha Palace, a former luxury hotel and casino now repurposed as a cultural center. Stroll through its landscaped gardens and admire its unique design, which reflects the city’s European influence.
