Explore the
Botanical Garden, a green paradise created in 1817 by King João VI of
Portugal. This park, dedicated to the cultivation of exotic plants, exhibits a
diversity of rare and exotic species brought from all over the world. Marvel at
the Imperial Palms, the enormous water lilies (Victorias- Regias) and
the threatened Brazilian redwoods (Pau Brasil), an endangered species in the
Atlantic Forest, in its renowned greenhouse, more than 500 species of delicate
orchids are carefully cultivated.
Then, delve into the Mata Atlanticaof
Tijuca, the largest urban forest in the world, making a stop at the Mirador
Chino that offers a magnificent view of the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana,
Guanabara Bay and the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain.
Remember
that car access to Mirador Chino is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Along the
tour, visitors often spot various tropical animals such as monkeys,
sloths and exotic birds. Upon returning to the hotel, we make a stop at Playa
del Pepino to contemplate the hang gliders.
