Clarification: These services only include the train ticket. For the Tierra del Fuego National Park excursion plus the End of the World Train, enter here and choose the corresponding option. When combined with the National Park excursion (transfers and guide in the park), the train must leave exclusively in the morning.
Departures can be at 9:30 am or 3:00 pm. The train passes through the stations are the following:
1. End of the World Station: The main train station is only 7 km from the city of Ushuaia. From here, passengers can enjoy panoramic views of the world’s southernmost region.
2. Puente Quemado: The train crosses the Pipo River over Puente Quemado, where the wooden remains of the old bridge lie beneath the new tracks. This historic bridge is a testament to early 20th-century railway engineering.
3. Cascada La Macarena Station: This historic site used to be a stop to supply water to the steam locomotive called “La Coqueta.” Visitors can explore the surrounding area and learn about the importance of water in the past.
4. National Park Boundary: The journey continues to the National Park Station, offering magnificent views of mountains and valleys near the park boundary. Here, passengers can appreciate the natural beauty and biodiversity of the protected area.
5. Tree Cemetery:Along the Pipo River, you can see traces of the daily routine of prisoners who cut down forests to supply the town with firewood for almost half a century. Fallen trees and marks in the ground tell a story of effort and survival.
6. National Park Station:Finally, we arrive at the last stop, the National Park Station. Here, travelers can explore trails, observe local fauna, and immerse themselves in the unspoiled nature of the park.
The journey takes approximately 1 hour one way and 45 minutes back. During the outward journey, there is a 15-minute stop at the Macarena Station, and then continues to the National Park Station. The return leg is direct, with no additional stops.
