Alternatively, there are long-distance buses that depart directly from Buenos Aires, although the trip can take around a day.
In Tilcara, gastronomy is a delight for the senses, offering traditional dishes from northern Argentina such as empanadas, tamales, locro (a stew of corn, meat and vegetables) and humita. In addition, you can enjoy local products such as quinoa, corn and a variety of native herbs. Many restaurants also offer international cuisine options.
