The Colorado Volcano is a hill that is very close to the town of San Martín de los Andes and its summit can be seen from a large number of places such as Catritre, route of 7 lakes, Quilaquina, Trompul, Lago lolog and others.
We will begin by picking up each passenger at the accommodation to travel to the base of the mountain. The transfer will take about 40 minutes.
Having started walking, we will cross the pampas that will bring us closer to the base itself. Bordering a stream we will enter a gigantic lenga forest with trees that reach up to 30 meters. high and canaverals of Colihues and we will go deeper and deeper into a canyon that offers us a not very demanding but constant ascent.
As we gain height the vegetation It becomes increasingly stunted and will allow us to have a better view of the entire Lacar Basin, until it turns into bushes.
We will cross a large number of natural rock viewpoints and we will reach the < b>pre-summit, where we will begin to see a ground that will be increasingly reddish until we reach the border. The texture of each rock will be very similar to pumice stone and this is because we will be arriving at the sector of the ancient volcanic cone that with its different eruptions, bath of solidified lava the entire summit.
The summit is the epicenter of the area, since from it we have a free 360-degree view, where you can see the Lacar lake, the Chapelco mountain range, Cerro Abanico, the mountain range in its entire extension, Cerro Sabana, Mallo, Lago and Cerro Lolog, the inevitable Lanín Volcano and countless other points of reference.
The tour ends with the passengers returning to their hotels.
