At 7 AM we will depart from our selected hotels to visit the town of Calingasta, which is a peaceful town that invites you to explore its mountain paths, enjoying the hospitality of its people and the many activities available.
During the journey, we can enjoy natural viewpoints and rest areas. We will arrive at Barreal, which is located within Calingasta, passing through the Quebrada de Las Burras. We will continue our journey towards Pampa El Leoncito, a plain well known for the practice of sand yachting (three-wheeled vehicles propelled by wind).
We will take a tour of the facilities of the Pampa El Leoncito Astronomical Complex, which is located within a 70,000-hectare Astronomical Reserve. This area has between 270 and 300 clear nights per year, making it ideal for studying the sky. It is the most important complex in Argentina and South America.
Our guided tour will last 45 minutes, during which we can explore the facilities of the "Jorge Sahade" telescope, see astronomical images, and receive a brief explanatory talk.
On the way back to the city of San Juan, we will have a panoramic view of Cerro Alcázar and walk through its irregularly beautiful shapes.
After this interesting tour, we will be returning to our selected hotels in San Juan at approximately 8 PM.
