Depart from El Calafate to take gravel road No. 15, also known as “Camino de las Estancias” . Arrival at the ranch after touring the shore of Lake Roca and having entered the Los Glaciares National Park . The host guide will welcome you to the Estancia and will accompany you to the Quincho, where you will be invited with a hot drink (tea, coffee or mate) accompanied by homemade pastries. A good pause to enjoy a magnificent view of the Cordillera de los Andes .
Then a walk through the facilities of a typical Patagonian ranch that was formerly dedicated to sheep production is undertaken and today Today it has been transformed into the most prestigious cabin of Hereford of these latitudes and that also maintains a flock of sheep.
In the stables, whoever opted for the cavalcade , you will mount and set out to explore the surroundings accompanied by a local guide.
Meanwhile the rest of the group will do a walk during which will have excellent views of the South Arm of Lake Argentino discovering various rocky outcrops eroded by glacial action and changes in lake levels. Through trails we will discover a forest of lengas and ñires, where caranchos live , cachañas, hares, woodpeckers, eagles and an abundant variety of native flora and fauna. At the end, the group is at the door of the shearing shed and current historical museum of the ranch. An opportunity to get to know a shed with all its components and understand the work that is done there. Between daily activities Visitors will also be able to participate in the morning milking and herding of sheep, thus concluding with a typical day of work at the Estancia. Returning to the barbecue area where you are roasting a lamb on the stick , emphasis will be placed on the history of the place and recall anecdotes and stories of the first settlers. Crossing through the orchard where most of the vegetables consumed in the ranch come from, we will arrive at the Quincho where the Asador will have the barbecue ready. for diners to enjoy a delicious Patagonian lamb while enjoying the imposing view of the Cordillera.
