This is an exclusive expedition that starts at approximately 7 in the morning from Calafate. After the pick up at your hotel, we will take the mythical Route 40 along the Argentino Lake, cross the Santa Cruz River. Here our guide will tell us the experiences of Darwin with Fitz Roy who climbed this river to very close there.
Then we will continue to the La Leona River, where we will pass through its canyon until we arrive after 1 hour 15 minutes, to the old Paso La Leona route hotel (almost a Route 40 museum), where you can have coffee with cakes homemade, from there we will continue bordering Lake Viedma - having the Andes Mountains in the background (Including Fitz Roy hills and the Tower).
Before reaching the town we will stop at the Viedma Glacier viewpoint from where you can see a beautiful panoramic view of the Glacier, the Cordillera, and the emblematic Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.
We will arrive at the mountain village of El Chaltén after 3 hours of travel, having traveled 220 km. After receiving the welcome, we will continue to where we can start free walks on the self-guided trails that leave from El Chalten and lead to the most beautiful viewpoints of the Fitz Roy or Cerro Torre.
Our trekking guide will advise us on the different options according to our physical state and will give us maps of the enabled trails. For lunch, they will give us a boxed lunch to take in the backpack and enjoy in the middle of the road, or, we will have lunch in a restaurant. (This will be defined by the guide upon arrival, and according to weather conditions)
Between 3 pm and 6 pm, depending on the time of year, we will meet again with the group, to begin the trip back to El Calafate.
