The tour begins from our hotel located in the center ofCalafate at 7.30 am. Once on the bus, we will travel 50 kilometers through a route full of ranches and along the way our guide will tell us the history of these places and what their functions are.
After a 45-minute trip, we will arrive at Lake Roca where we will board a small boat with a capacity of up to 17 people. We will sail for 45 minutes, during which we will enjoy the unique views of the typical Patagonian steppe, mixed with the Lengas forests.
We will disembark on the southern shore of the South Arm of the lake. This is where the first stage of the trekking begins: We will head towards Lake Frías and walk through an almost unexplored site, where virgin forests and natural landscapes will appear before us. Once we reach the lake, we will board again, this time in a small motor boat (zodiacs), to cross it and begin the second and most important part of the trekking: the march towards the Glacier Large, located at the southern end of the national park.
After 2 hours of walking, we will arrive at an incredible place made up of a valley surrounded by glaciers, This is why it is called "Glacier Amphitheater".
At the amphitheater we will make our stop to rest and have lunch facing the wonderful views of the Grande, Cubo and Dickson glaciers.
Once lunch is over, we will begin our return along the same path.
On board the bus that will take us back to the center of El Calafate, we will have a snack that will include Mate, a typical Argentine drink, similar to tea.
We will arrive at our hotel at approximately 7pm.
