Our tour begins by picking you up in a 4x4 vehicle at your downtown hotel in El Calafate. It will take you along the slopes of the Cañadon del Arroyo Calafate, where you will have the opportunity to watch native fauna, such as guanacos, foxes, hares, and condors, among other species.
We will continue ascending a path for about 20 minutes towards our first destination. We will arrive at the First Balcony, a setting that dates from the Cenozoic Era, approximately 65 million years ago. Here you can marvel at fossils, sediments and vegetation, which tell us the story of an ancient sea that used to occupy this region.
We will get off the vehicles for a few minutes to reach the Upper Balconies, located 1100 meters above sea level . This panoramic point will offer you spectacular views of the Andes Mountains, the majestic Patagonian Continental Ice and the different arms of Lake Argentino. On clear days, you can even admire the Fitz Roy and Torre hills in Chaltén.
In addition to the unforgettable views, the privileged location of the Balconies above the condor nests will allow you to witness the flight of this bird, the Andean Condor.
After enjoying these impressive views, we will begin the descent in 4x4 vehicles. We will arrive at the historic Estancia Huyliche, an old cattle property dating from the 1920s. Here, you will be able to enjoy a delicious 3-course native lunch accompanied with a wine Argentinian.
Once lunch is over, we will return to your selected hotel.
