Departure from El Calafate around 08:30 hs to take gravel road No. 15, also known as “Camino de las Estancias” . During the journey it is common to come across condors, foxes and hares, with Cerro Frías as the protagonist.
Arrival at the ranch after touring the shore of Lake Roca and having entered the Los Glaciares National Park . The host guide will welcome you to the Estancia and will accompany you to the Quincho, where you will be invited with a hot drink (tea, coffee or mate) accompanied by homemade pastries. A good break to enjoy a magnificent view of the Cordillera de los Andes .
Beginning of the walk to visit the facilities of a typical Patagonian ranch. After the guide will tell us the story of the first settlers of the Estancia and the cattle farm and at the same time will give us a brief historical review on the breaks of the Perito Moreno Glacier and its consequences in the area.
Returning to the Quincho, the grill will have the barbecue ready for diners to enjoy a delicious Patagonian lamb while enjoy the imposing view of nbsp ; the Cordillera.
After lunch, an extended horseback ride will be undertaken together with the guide for 3 hours, which will allow you to get to know more thoroughly. We leave the ranch with Heading east, where the journey begins along a path that runs between the autochthonous forest of ñires, with specimens of calafates, grills, notros, cherries, lengas and a wide range of wildflowers such as topa-topa, orchids, peas and dandelions . The crystal cord - is so named because some quartz crystals are often seen.
The path it meanders as we gain height, and the landscape becomes more and more imposing. Near the summit we will be able to see (in favorable atmospheric conditions) the different arms of Argentino Lake such as Brazo Sur, Brazo Rico and Lago Roca. We return along a path that crosses forests of lengas and ñires until we reach La Angostura where Lake Argentino receives the waters of Lago Roca.
