The total route is 220 km long and lasts approximately 9 hours. We begin our adventure in the morning, visiting one of the most emblematic icons of Catamarca: La Cuesta del Portezuelo.
This road extends for almost 20 km and has more than 300 curves. The panoramas inspired the verses of Landscapes of Catamarca, and during the journey, you can enjoy these unique views.
After descending, we head to Valle Viejo, a region rich in history and culture. Here you can appreciate colonial architecture and learn more about local traditions. We continue to Fray Mamerto Esquiú, a place that pays homage to the eponymous friar, known for his religious and social work.
Our next stop is the Las Pirquitas Dam, a reservoir surrounded by nature, ideal for taking photos and enjoying a moment of tranquility. Then, we head to La Puerta, a picturesque town that offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
The tour continues to El Rodeo, a charming mountain destination known for its cool climate and green landscapes. Here, we will take a pause to enjoy the surroundings and take some photos. Next, we climb the Cuesta del Rodeo, a path that offers stunning panoramic views and is perfect for photography lovers.
Finally, we arrive at San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, the capital of the province. Here, you can explore the city, visit its main attractions and immerse yourself in local life.
Throughout the tour, we will make permanent photo stops to capture the incredible scenery that this beautiful circuit offers us.
