In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel by your expert guide to go to Fonck Lake. Located 65 km from the city of Bariloche, the Lake is located in the heart of the National Park, in the middle of a completely pristine and wild nature. We can reach the Fonck lake only using four-wheel drive vehicles. It is the most remote lake in the National Park, offering excellent fishing for large brown trout, Rainbow and Fontinalis.
Arriving at the embarkation point, your guide will He will explain the fishing techniques that we propose for the excursion:
- Fly Fishing (or Fly Fishing): It consists of throwing flies –Hooks “dressed” ”- which are imitations of insects, small fish, shrimp, etc, using a weighted line specifically designed for this purpose, using a certain precise technique. Undoubtedly, this modality requires practice and dedication, just to get used to the launch. However, this type of fishing is becoming more and more popular all over the world.
- Spinning: This fishing technique consists of throwing and collecting artificial lures such as spoons , simulating the movement of a small organism in the water, which the voracious trout attacks, if we manage to deceive it. Spinning is allowed in all lakes and some sections of some rivers; It can be practiced from the coast or from boats, rowing or motorized. We recommend the use of ultra-light equipment and simple hooks without barbs.
Then, the excursion will begin, sailing on Lake Fonck and fishing with the technique chosen by you.
After two hours fishing from the boat, you will arrive at the lakeside to enjoy a delicious lunch in nature. After a rest, you will continue floating and fishing during the afternoon in the best places that the Lake has to offer.
Always accompanied by your guide, you will learn the history about the San Carlos de Bariloche region and the best option for fishing and fish that live in the region.
Then 12 km of travel during the whole day, your guide will take you to the exit site of the Lake where you will be received with the cars to take you back at your hotel.
Fishing Season
The fishing season begins every year on November 1 and ends on April 30 within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Northern Patagonia. However, for fishing out of season, the Nahuel Huapi, Gutierrez and Mascardi lakes are enabled during the entire months of May and October. Lake Moreno is enabled for fishing in all three modalities all year long, so we practice fishing there during the winter.
