We will pick you up at your accommodation in Antofagasta de la Sierra around 8 in the morning.
On this panoramic tour, we will make some stops at tourist attractions to take pictures and learn a little more about the history and culture of Catamarca.
Our first stop is at Campo los Tobas, where there are petroglyphs carved in volcanic rock that are approximately 1,500 years old.
Another stop will be at the Miriguaca Viewpoint, where you can see the 70-meter-high volcanic lava walls of Galán. Further on we will come across Real Grande, a place where the flora and fauna of the place exist, we will meet goldfinches, the "golden dove" and other native birds, and we will pass through its narrow alley.
The next stop we make will be at the Mirador west side of the Volcanic Caldera of Galán, where we will reach an elevation of 4850 meters above sea level. We will be able to observe within it Laguna Diamante and the "Hervidero", where boiling water comes out at about 82 degrees.
From there, we begin the return along the south side of the Caldera.
We will pass by Laguna Grande to do bird watching, highlighting the Andean flamingo as the most striking for its pink color that arrive in summer to reproduce. Finally, we begin the return along the rock to arrive at the town of Antofagasta.
