The city of San Luis

It is in the center of the province. In this place, there is a mountain range, dams, hot springs, and salt deposits. These different scenarios create incredible landscapes.

The most visited sites are El Trapiche, Villa del Dique La Florida, Potrero de los Funes with its car racing track, La Carolina with its old gold mine, and other sites with historical value (Inti Huasi).

To the west, the Sierra de las Quijadas National Park shows a beautiful landscape. The quietness and heights of this place are perfect for Condors who fly around freely. Tourists may observe the Condor.

This park was created to protect the biomes of the monte and the west Chaco and at the same time to preserve archaeological deposits.

If you are an adventurer; you can descend to the valley. utHowever, it is necessary to hire a local guide because you can get lost. Remember you must avoid damaging the environment, causing erosion, or damage shrubs or fossils such as those of flying reptiles.

While descending, you will cross Potrero de la Aguada and see Desaguadero river on the west. This river feeds some temporary ponds during rainy seasons, forming Guanacache lagoons.

In the south, there are plains and ponds. This area is rich in saltpeter and wildlife. It is a very humid area where everything can grow. This place offers the opportunity of practicing unconventional tourism.

There are many lakes, and an interesting fauna; in fact, many birds can be watched.
