How to go to the Iguazu Falls

The Falls are located on the border between Argentina and Brazil, generally those who want to know them base in the small town of Puerto Iguazú (Argentine side), it is super safe and has a great infrastructure to enjoy tours, lodging and gastronomy. 


To get to the Falls from Puerto Iguazú you have to go al  National Park, located at 20 kilometers from the city. You can get here by renting a car   and driving through the RN12, hiring a tour that includes the transfer or taking the only public group of the company Río Uruguay that leaves every day every 20 minutes from the bus terminal, the tour lasts 20 minutes and leaves passengers at the gate of the Park.

How to get there from Buenos Aires


- By plane: There are currently 4 airlines operating this trip: Flybondi (frequently 4 times a week), Jetsmart (flights twice a week), LATAM (with flights 5 times a week) and Aerolineas Argentinas (with departures every day except Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). Departures are made from  Aeroparque, the   flight to Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport takes 1 hour 5 minutes.


- On Bus There are different companies (Vía Bariloche, Río Uruguay, Expreso Tigre Iguazú, Andesmar, Crucero del norte) that operate this route that departs from the Retiro Bus Station  in Buenos Aires to the  Bus Terminal of the City of Puerto Iguazú . The route is 1,277 kilometers long, it is a direct route, without changes and the total duration is 16 hours.


- By car:  You have to take the National Route 14 and then once in Misiones continue along the RP12 is a journey of about 15 hours, that is, about 1200 kilometers. The route is safe, well signposted, with tolls and checkpoints.







How to get from Córdoba to Iguazú


- By plane:  2 are airlines that make direct flights from Córdoba to the Cataratas del Iguazú International AirportFlybondi with flights on Thursdays and Sundays and Aerolineas Argentinas with a frequency of five days a week (every day except Monday and Tuesday). The departures are made from Airport Ingeniero Aeronáutico  Ambrosio, the trip lasts approximately 1 hour 50 minutes.


- On BusThe companies that operate from Córdoba to the bus terminal in Puerto Iguazú are: Expreso Singer, La Unión and Crucero del Norte. Every day there are departures only in the morning.  The route is 1,478 kilometers long, it is a direct route and the total duration is 19 hours 40 minutes.


- By car: You have to take the   National Path 19, then arrive at the intersection with RN 127 through which you will drive a three-hour journey until you join RN 12 that will take you to Puerto Iguazú. It is a journey of 1418 kilometers, about 18 hours of travel. 











How to get there from Salta to Iguazú


- By plane: There are 2 airlines that make direct flights to Iguazú: Jetsmart with flights on Tuesdays and Fridays and Aerolineas Argentinas with three flights per week. Departures are from  General Martín Miguel de Guemes International Airport, the trip lasts approximately 1 hour 35 minutes  to the Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport.


- On BusThe companies that travel to Puerto Iguazú from Salta Capital are: Río Uruguay, El Norte Bis, La Veloz del Norte, Flecha Bus and Crucero from North. Every day there are departures in the morning. The route is 1478 kilometers and the trip takes about 19 hours and 45 minutes.


- By Car: You have to go from the capital of Salta along the  National Route 16 to the intersection with the RN12 that takes you directly to Puerto Iguazú. The duration of the trip is about 18 hours 31 minutes, that is to say about 1446 kilometers. 







How to get from Rio de Janeiro to Iguazú


- By plane:  Rio de Janeiro is 1400 kilometers from Iguazú, it can be reached through the flights that depart every day in the morning and in the evening from the Galeao International Airport, here two airlines operate: LATAM and GOL, the flight lasts 2 hours 15 minutes and arrive at  Foz International Airport do Iguaçu (17 kilometers from the center of Foz Do  Iguaçu ).


- On Bus: They leave from the Novo Río Bus terminal, there are six bus lines that arrive at the Foz Do Iguacu bus station: Expresso Maringa , Distribusion, Nordeste, Catarinense, Pluma and Unesul. The tour lasts about 19 hours and once you arrive at the terminal you can take the Easy Bus or Crucero del Norte lines right there that lead to the terminal in Puerto Iguazú (half an hour of travel).


- By car: The distance by car  to Iguazú is 1509 kilometers and the approximate duration of the trip is 17 hours 35 minutes. From the city you must take route 116 until intercepting 374, then continue on 158 to the town of Cascavel, there you must follow the signs to route 277 that takes you to Puerto Iguazú. 
 






How to get from Asunción to Iguazú


- By plane: The airline that operates flights to Foz Do International Airport   Iguaçu is LATAM, the trip has a total duration of 6 hours  (with scale in Sao Paulo). Flights depart every day in the morning. 


- In  BusThey leave from the Asunción bus terminal, there are two lines that arrive at the Puerto Iguazú bus station: Chaco Boreal and Cañadón Chaqueño. The trip is 330 kilometers and lasts about 7 hours.


- By Car: The duration of the trip by car is 5 hours, you have to take Route 2 from the center of Asunción to the intersection with Route 277 that connects you with nbsp ; Puerto Iguazú.  In total there are 345 kilometers.

 











How to get from Santiago de Chile to Iguazú


From Santiago de Chile there are direct flights to Foz do Iguaçu International Airport that depart from Arturo Merino International Airport 17 kilometers from the city center. The two airlines that make flights to Cataratas International Airport are LATAM and Jetsmart, the flight duration is 2 hours and they depart every day.





How to get from Lima to Iguazú


From Peru It can be reached by plane from Jorge Chávez Airport, located 10 kilometers from downtown Lima, where the LATAM airline operates, which takes 3 hours 30 minutes to arrive at Foz do Iguazú International Airport and flies 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday).
