Just one hour from Santiago de Chile there is an exciting option away from the bustle of the city Cajón del Maipo is one of the most attractive areas for lovers of landscape and outdoor life. This is an ideal place to go for the weekend to relax and get in touch with nature

Cajón del Maipo is on Andean canyon in the southeastern zone of the Metropolitan Region in Chile about 900 MASL, where it is encased by hills, cliffs and massifs. The area also has a series of confluent rivers. This Andean canyon stands out for being the gateway to The Range and for having spectacular landscapes, hot springs, glaciers, trekking trails and much more. The first stop should be San Jose de Maipo, a small ville founded en 1792.  There are several places to visit such as:

Cascada de las Ánimas.  

In this place you can see the mountain range, waterfalls, slopes. Many activities such as rafting, horseback riding, canopy and hiking can be done there.  

El Yeso Reservoir.

This is the main water reserve of Santiago and it is located 2,500 MASL in the middle of the Andes Mountain Range. While in the winter surrounding mountains are covered with snow, in summer they are dry and the reservoir acquires a beautiful emerald color.  

El Morado Natural Monument:  Due to its beautiful natural environment It is one of the greatest tourist interest in the Cajon del Maipo areas. There are many activities to do such as trekking, horseback riding, mountaineering, climbing and hiking, among others. This is where San Francisco Glacier is located. There is nothing more relaxing Than a Hot Bath and The Cajon of Maipo have several hot springs.

Baños Morales. Placed in a  mountant  very small town known as Villa Baños Moraleswhich is in an environment of beautiful rugged landscapes of hills and streams.

Termas El  Plomo.  Located in Parque Valle del Yeso, they correspond to an ideal option for nature lovers who seek to get away completely from civilization, it has natural pools of warm waters immersed in solitary Andean landscapes.  

Hot springs Valle de la Colina.

 This es a special place to take a hot waters bath with an spectacular panoramic view, beside the curative properties of volcanic mud rich in minerals. Story tells that the Liberation Army healed its war wounds in these thermal pools for desinflamatory and calming action due to its minerals sulfur, magnesium, cobalt, zinc and copper.
